About Our Club

The Kiwanis Club of Metropolitan Birmingham serves the Greater Birmingham Community by providing volunteer and financial support to local nonprofit organizations that seek to improve the lives of children. We are an active, growing club with between 20 and 30 members, enthusiastic about the organizations we support and being a part of each agencies mission. We meet at the Summit Club the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month to discuss club business and hear from a speaker on topics of local interest. We invite anyone interested in learning more about our club to call us and visit one of our Summit Club meetings to learn more about us.  So, Join us and help make a lasting difference in your community while developing relationships that last a lifetime.

“One Can Make a Difference”

Objects of Kiwanis

The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver, Colorado. Through the succeeding decades, they have remained unchanged.

  • To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
  • To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
  • To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
  • To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
  • To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
  • To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
